Blankets and Warm Clothing Needed

For many of us, this time of year reminds us of all the things we are thankful for but for others, it is a time to dread the coming of frigid temperatures without adequate protection from the cold. Won't you help us provide blankets and warm clothing to those suffering through the harsh effects of this winter along the border in Mexico and the Rio Grande Valley. Your donations of new or gently used blankets and warm clothing such as coats, sweaters, sweatshirts, scarfs and socks will allow us to provide much needed comfort to those facing this winter with little or no protection from the elements.

Items can be donated at one of our collection points by calling the designated collection point contact to arrange a drop off or pick up.

Update on 2017

Your donations continue to be delivered to those in need in northeastern Mexico. A van load of mostly educational donations from Sugarland Presbyterian Church were transported to the border in August with most of these donations having already been crossed into Mexico by Rafael for distribution by Fidencio.

Distribution of donated educational materials

Donated computers from Tom Adams of Austin were converted to a Windows 7 Spanish OS, loaded with Microsoft Office in Spanish and transported to the border in August. These computers will be placed in schools for use by the teachers and children. CUPS has provided some assistance to Casa Bugambilia as they seek to find recipients for the more than 100 wheelchairs that they received as donations.

CUPS continued to complete a variety of work projects led by Fidencio with the help of the local communities benefiting from the projects. Roofs for a playground and a school building along with a new bodega were some of the highlights from 2017.

Financial Donations

All of the work accomplished this year has only been possible through your continued support of CUPS through your donations and financial contributions. Your financial contributions allow us to collect and deliver donations to those most in need and support the work of ongoing work projects. As we approach the end of this year, won't you consider a financial contribution to CUPS so that we can continue to provide educational and medical supplies to our neighbors and sustain the work projects that have already been identified.
